No, making people think instead of scream is my mission in life. You can imagine how much I hate politics. I go through cycles of following it for a while, then stopping because I figure it's better if I keep my will to live, and maybe, if I stop soon enough, the contents of my stomach.

Oh c'mon! Being over the top and completely absurd (while at the same time, completely meaning every word I say) is what makes me me.

Can't you just appreciate my "style" without making my head hurt by writing something thoughtful (and long)?

Well, it's not my first choice of music, but I don't find it nearly so offensive as you do. Actually, I'm laughing at it more than anything... you know metal bands don't really take all that stuff seriously, right? That they're deliberately being ridiculous? And no, I won't petition to stop anybody from making art that isn't unequivocally hurting people, even if it meant that The Busters and plush mealybugs would never have come into existence.

Besides which, people can like music for a wide variety of reasons. Identifying with it is only one, and if somebody does identify with those kinds of harsh sentiments, maybe it's better that they have some music to help them think about it than just being totally alone. And me, I might put it on if I just want some obnoxious music to blast while I'm cleaning, and I can see it as interesting social commentary without actually being quite that cynical myself.

Oh ok. Well if by "they rock," you actually mean "they suck all that is good from the word and all the happiness from innocent little children, and they have bad haircuts and look like possessed goats and have not a shred of musical talent," well then, yes, I absolutely agree with you!

System of a Down not only makes real music, they ARE music, as in, they are actually, physically pure vibrational tones in the air. With hits like "Cigaro," "Chop Suey," "Hypnotize" and yes, even "BYOB," SOAD has defined itself as not only the top alt-metal band on the planet, but also as a cause for global peace, via their anti-genecide campaigns for Armenia.

AND THEY ROCK.

This is absolutely correct. SOAD is actually the devil. If you play their "music" from your computer, demons will actually eat your hard drive.
