Be irresponsible, spend money you don't have, buy things you can't afford, fail to make the payments. Not to worry -- just cry foul when it is threatened that it will be taken away from you and big government will come in and rescue you, sending the clear message that being financially responsible is, not only unnecessary, but actually stupid, since the tax dollars of those who are financially responsible are the dollars that are going to go towards this crappy legislature.
I've never been so irritated!

D00d, that whole bailout thing is bogus… and the fact that the dems blocked what might have been the only redeeming part of the bill, forbidding fannie and freddie from lobbying or making donations… I was just reading something about how the bullied several states out of anti-predatory-lending laws, and those states are now being hit hard by the crash because of it. Sigh.
Oh, and BTW, I'm listening to System of a Down right now, and it's hilarious!
Found this after finding a post by your explaining javascript continue statements…. thanks for that one. and of course you're right about this.
you must be losing your mind now that it's 2009 and the dems are doing everything in their power to DESTROY CAPITALISM. sad. scary.
@glitch:
Thanks! Hope you found the Javascript stuff helpful.
And yes, I am losing my mind. For years, I've been working hard to save for a down payment on a home, knowing all the while that home prices in my area are artificially high, waiting for them to drop.
I was one of the people who DIDN'T buy a home I couldn't afford. I was waiting for this collapse to happen — it was so obvious to me. And what do I get for being responsible with my money?
Angers me to no end that politicians try to use law-making as a method of social engineering. Grr!
Hi Stephen,
I'm not American (I'm a French citizen). I've american friends living in the US and I've been travelling around your beautiful country.
I agree with you 100%. This happens not only in the US but in Europe too and we are all concerned.
Thanks for your blog and the very helpful information - I learned a lot from your incoherent babble ;o)
Thanks Philippe! I appreciate the comments.
I, for one, can't support anything that makes it virtually impossible to construct Starships, namely capitalism. It's been quite a while since its been pure, and now its just as tainted as those damned trekkies communism. Good thing the movie didn't suck, because between that and the crap that rolled off Dragonball, birthing that miserable flop of a bastard, Evolution, I would have had to slit my wrists. literally.
